People may think $700 is very expensive for a doll they collect as hobby. However, it becomes a totally different story when you say you got your hands on the casting base doll (prototype) for $700.

Especially body sculpting is something very few artists do. And OP, considering how many different areas there are in a single bjd you will most likely need to commission almost 10 different ... WebJul 31, 2008 · It's fine to let little kids hold your doll or play gently with them but letting a little kid own a BJD I think is too big a responsibility and not the best thing to spend money on for a kid that age. WebAug 5, 2024 · The sizes that feel most comfortable are 1/6th and 1/4th. However, I still like 1/3rd. Mostly because I feel like 1/3rd dolls have wider variety from fantasy dolls to regular dolls and especially with the male sculpts. 1/4th male dolls generally lack the masculinity and such that you find in the 1/3rd scale. WebI have 9 bjds that I sometimes take out and about with me (1-2 at a time) and if someone tries to snatch one of them from me, they'd be in for a world of hurt. It's not like stealing a toy from a child, this is an expensive item being stolen from a adult that costs just as much as a cellphone, and not even as easily replaceable as a cellphone!
