Webb5 mars 2024 · Thomas Charles Savage, 62, of London, died March 5, 2024, peacefully in his home. He was born on January 14, 1958, to Charlene and Fenwick Savage in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He attended the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario and served in the Canadian Armed Forces for ten years. Savage published his first story, "The Bronc Stomper," in 1937 in Coronet under the name Tom Brenner. Annie Proulx has noted that the story was "unremarkable except for its unusual subject matter", breaking a horse. However, the seventy-five dollar payment he received encouraged him to attempt writing a novel.
